Century students shine at the Minnesota Business Professionals of America conference. 22 Century students recently showcased their talents at the annual Minnesota Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference. The following students garnered state recognition: • Colin Chen – 1st in Medical Coding • Anje Gasner – 5th in Business Law and Ethics • Armita Kazemi – 4th in Fundamentals of Web Design • Ana Milosevic – 1st in Economic Research Individual; 2nd in Economic Research Team • Maxwell Oftedahl – 4th in Python Programming • Peter Schuler – 2nd in Fundamental Accounting • Ria Shah – 2nd in Economic Research Team • Danielle Wang – 1st in Advanced Desktop Publishing • William Yan – 4th in Personal Financial Management • Ethan Zhang – 1st in Advanced Accounting • Krishna Kadirvel - 4th in Health Administration Concepts and Mahadev Krishnan - 5th in Health Administration Concepts. In May, Ana Milosevic, Danielle Wang, Peter Schuler, Ethan Zhang, Armita Kazemi, William Yan, Anje Gasner, Colin Chen, Maxwell Oftedahl, and Ria Shah will represent Century at the 59th Annual National Leadership Conference in Chicago, IL, competing against top students from across the nation.

According to History.com, St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated annually on March 17, the anniversary of Saint Patrick's death in the fifth century. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over 1,000 years and have been observing the Roman Catholic feast day of St. Patrick since around the ninth or 10th century.

Congratulations to all of our Science Competition students!
On March 2, the State Science Olympiad Competition was held at Bethel University. The Century Varsity team placed in the upper 10 (out of 30 teams) and won medals for Fermi Questions and Robot Tour. Students on the team included: Finley Bartholmai, Aisharya Bhattacharya, Colin Chen, Logan Clappier, Edra Clements, Reetu Gurung, Evelyn Kim, Shannon Kim, Ardashir Kocer, Felix Lu, Pranavagurubara Senthikumar, Copeland Steele, William Yan, and Nicole Yang
The Varsity Team had previously placed 2nd overall in Regional Competition. In Addition, Century had two Junior Varsity Teams. In regional competition, the Junior Varsity teams placed number one and number two (out of four total JV teams).



On Friday, March 1, the Rochester Regional Science Fair was held at RCTC. The regional is able to send 2 high school students directly to the International and Engineering Fair which will be held in Los Angeles in May. Twenty five high school students from the region were invited to compete at the state science fair. Both of the projects that will advance to the National Competition involved Century High School Students. The first place project was done by Dean Wang. The title of the project was "Novel Machine-learning Framework to Predict Drug-Drug Interaction Risks of Illicit Drug Use" The second place project (also going to National Competition) was done by Ardashir Kocer (Century), Erik Hill (Century), and Ezra Weldegabriel (Mayo). The title of the project was: "An Investigation of Alternative Lithium Ion Battery Anodes". Students (and projects) from Century competing at the state competition include: Yufei Zhou, Julia Wang , Felix Lu, Albert Hu, Karthik Anand, Armita Kazemi , Colin Chen, and Sam Wattier


Congratulations to the First Robotics Team on accomplishments at this past weekend’s Great Northern Regional Competition in Grand Forks, ND. Rochester ranked 3rd out of 56 teams after the qualifying rounds which was a historically high finish for our team! They achieved an overall 3rd place finish after being selected by the #1 ranking team from Fergus Falls to form a 3-team alliance for the finals. They were also awarded the Spirit Award. Congrats to the First Robotics Team.

Congratulations to The Century Math League team on their 2nd place finish at state today!! Golden Peng was recognized for an all time record career 438 points (he joined the team in 5th grade).


The CHS Varsity Chess Team finished in 2nd place at the State Chess Assn Tournament this weekend. This is the highest finish in the 24 year history of the team. Freshman Cole Lappi finished in 5th place for the United State Chess Federation under 1300 rating. Senior Jayan Jayachandran finished first in that group.


It's almost time to "spring forward!" Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 2:00 A.M. Don't forget, our clocks need to “spring forward” one hour.

They are currently ranked 4th out of 56 teams and have a 6-0 record with 3 more matches tomorrow!
