In honor of its 50th Anniversary this year, RPS Community Education is seeking submissions of artwork by our community members about our community to be used in reinforcing the lifelong learning mission of Community Education through our publications, event wear, items for sale, and other ways.
Ideal designs will be creative, engaging, and colorful, with an emphasis on the ways we learn and live together as a community. Designs in single color, black and white, or grayscale will also be accepted. Designs must be suitable for viewing by audiences of all ages.
Concept sketches are acceptable as long as they fully represent the proposed artwork.
The contest runs through April 30, 2024, at 4 p.m. Winners will be selected by May 31, 2024. See contest details below.
Prize
Each winner receives a $250 honorarium in recognition of their work upon transfer of ownership, and their artwork will be featured with the artist, if available, at RPS Community Education’s 50th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
Judging
Artwork will be judged solely on their merit and power in reinforcing Community Education’s mission and programs, and the selection of winners will be at the sole discretion of RPS Community Education.
Originality
The artwork must be original. Artists must represent and warrant that they are the sole author and sole proprietor of all rights in and to any portion of the artwork; that the artwork is original and not in the public domain; that it has not been previously published; that it does not violate or infringe on any personal or property rights of others, whether common law or statutory.
Uses
Winning artists will be asked to transfer all rights to the artwork to Community Education, in perpetuity.
