Hey, RPS high schoolers! Did you know you could make $15/hour and get elective credit toward graduation by working with our School Aged Child Care (SACC) program for the 2024-2025 school year?

Did you know you could work with School Aged Child Care (SACC) in our elementary schools, make $15/hour, and get elective credit toward graduation? A few things to note: Work hours are from 8th hour to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. You can work at an elementary school close to your high school. Applicants must be 16+ and provide their own transportation. Scheduling will depend on your required classes and high school schedule. If your schedule is already full and you still want to work part-time at SACC, contact Nate at naschriever@rochesterschools.org. Summer hours are also available! Summer hiring starts in March/April. Students hired must maintain good work habits to remain in the course. If this interests you, see your counselor for details on credits and to explore your options. Have any questions about the SACC program? Contact Nate at naschriever@rochesterschools.org.

Century High School is holding a blood drive for students and staff on January 24th & 25th. Every 10 minutes, someone in Olmsted County urgently needs a blood transfusion. Your simple act of donating blood can save the life of a premature baby, restore the strength of a cancer patient, or provide a critical transfusion to an accident victim. Plus, there are yummy cookies, a free t-shirt for first-time donors – and the feel-good buzz of saving up to three lives – waiting for you after your donation! The Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Program will be in the cafeteria during lunch on Thursday, January 18th answering questions and signing up any interested blood donors.
